Inside Showslide’s new Faculty Partner Program
There is a precise moment that every university lecturer knows by heart, you are mid-slide, mid-thought and mid-sentence when you glance up at the room. Some students are locked in, while many others are somewhere else entirely. Their phones are face-up on their desks, or their laptops are open to a browser tab that has absolutely nothing to do with your course material.
This is happening because the traditional, one-way lecture format gives them very little reason to participate.
At Showslide, we refuse to accept passive distraction as the default state of higher education so now, we are looking for forward-thinking universities to help us prove that the lecture hall can be a space of active, vibrant engagement. Through the launch of our new Faculty Partner Program, we are inviting a select cohort of institutions to gain free access to our platform and shape the future of classroom technology.
Breaking the broadcast
What the Faculty Partner Program is
The Showslide Faculty Partner Program is our early-access initiative designed for universities that want to make their lectures deeply interactive without making them complicated.
Instead of a typical software trial, we are building a collaborative community. A small, intentional cohort of 10 partner institutions will receive entirely free access to Showslide, alongside direct support from our founding engineering team. In return, we get the invaluable asset of real-world feedback directly from active lecture halls.
We are keeping this first cohort intentionally intimate because we want to work closely with individual educators, understand the unique ways different faculty members teach, and ensure that Showslide seamlessly integrates into daily classroom workflows before we scale further.
How Showslide works
Interaction without the friction
The core premise of Showslide is intentionally simple: it meets students exactly where they already are.
At the start of a class, the professor displays a unique QR code or shares a single web link. Students scan or click the link using whatever device they have on hand, be it a smartphone, laptop, or tablet and instantly, the lecture slides appear on their personal screens, broadcasting live and in perfect sync with the presenter.
We deliberately stripped away the friction that usually kills educational technology adoption:
- There is no app to download from an app store.
- There is no student account to create or password to manage.
- There is no complex IT request to file with university administration.
From the moment the link is open, the lecture transforms into a two-way conversation.
Students sitting at the very back of a 300-seat auditorium can react to slides in real time using intuitive feedback tools like likes, dislikes, or a virtual “raise hand” function.
Simultaneously, professors receive immediate, visual data showing what concepts are landing, what is causing confusion, and where the room’s attention is drifting.
The entire experience runs securely through a single link, ensuring the professor remains in complete control of the room throughout the presentation.
Why the higher education lecture is ready for a shift
Universities have spent years debating student distraction and the passive nature of traditional lecturing. The discussion around low participation is not new, but the tools available to fix it finally are. The most effective modern solutions do not require a semester-long faculty rollout or a heavy line item in the institutional facilities budget.
Showslide succeeds because it abandons the futile battle of trying to confiscate student devices. The question was never how to take the smartphone away, it was always how to make the smartphone useful to the learning process.
Faculty members who have used the platform report that the shift in classroom culture happens much faster than anticipated. The transformation isn’t just visible in how students behave, it radically changes how the lecturer feels. When a room is reacting in real time, when anonymous questions roll in or when you can instantly see that a difficult concept just clicked, teaching stops feeling like a broadcast and feels like an academic dialogue.
An open invitation to Faculty and Administrators
The Faculty Partner Program is fully inclusive, welcoming universities of any size and departments of any discipline. Showslide is built to scale seamlessly, whether it is being used in a seminar of 20 students or a massive lecture theater filled with 500. It is equally effective whether the day’s topic is complex biochemistry or business law.
For professors and lecturers, this program provides a powerful digital tool that adapts to your existing workflow. You do not have to change your teaching philosophy, Showslide simply opens up the room so you can see your students’ progress in real time.
For department heads and university administrators, the program carries zero implementation risk because there is nothing to install, nothing to procure, and nothing requiring hours of specialized IT training, faculty can begin using the tool on day one. The opportunity requires no budget approval, it simply asks whether your institution wants to be a part of shaping the next generation of EdTech.
How to get involved
Applications for the inaugural cohort of the Showslide Faculty Partner Program are officially open at https://showslide.com/universities/. We review submissions on a rolling basis and make a point to reach out to every university that applies within 48 hours.
If you have questions before submitting your application, whether you want to discuss how the platform fits your specific curriculum, how we handle data security, or what the partnership looks like in day-to-day practice, our founding team is ready to connect with you.
The layout of the lecture hall has remained virtually unchanged for centuries. We think it is finally ready for something new, and we hope you will join us to build it.
